VMLogix LabManager for Software Testers and QA Engineers

VMLogix enables test teams to perform automated and manual testing of software applications more quickly, cost-effectively and reliably using virtualized lab IT infrastructure.

VMLogix LabManager helps test engineers to create a library of single and multi-machine test environments corresponding to exploding interoperability and test matrices. With seamless integrations to test management tools, testers can maximize test coverage and dramatically reduce the amount of time and effort required to test software applications.

Usage Scenarios:

  • Leverage automation operations in LabManager to build and maintain a library of test environments (including the creation of synchronized multi-machine environments) corresponding to interoperability and test matrices.
  • Self-serve test environments on-demand using virtual machines.
  • Use snapshots and movie walkthroughs to efficiently capture defects and steps to reproduce them, and then share them with developers.
  • Collaborate with other users and geographically distributed teams during the software engineering process - share lab artefacts (such as user scripts, machine templates etc.) with other LabManager users and teams.
  • Execute automated test cases from leading test automation tools with LabManager providing the required test bed for test case execution.
  • Perform interoperability testing by creating run-time snapshots and then reverting to snapshots for each new series of tests.
  • Create production like environments as an environment for test case execution using advanced networking capabilities in LabManager.
  • Execute multiple instances of a test configuration in parallel without the need to worry about MAC or IP address conflicts.
  • Build and rebuild multi machine test configurations without user intervention. Deploy configurations (with appropriate priority) any number of times to run varied test cases.
  • View and interact with multi-machine test environments using VNC in a single browser window or Microsoft Remote Desktop.
