1. What is the VMLogix education offer?

As part of the VMLogix Education Program, Universities and education institutes worldwide can now get access to a free version of the award winning VMLogix virtual lab management solution. University customers can choose to use VMLogix LabManager (for on-premise virtual labs) or LabManager-Cloud Edition (for virtual labs on the Amazon Web Services (AWS) public cloud) or both.

2. What can you use the VMLogix management solutions for?

VMLogix enables IT administrators to use any of the leading virtualization platforms to consolidate virtual lab infrastructures and enables end users (i.e., students) to gain access to lab infrastructure in a policy controlled, automated and self service manner. These virtual lab infrastructures can be used for instance, by instructors for student training or by internal IT teams for application development and testing. 3. Who do we think would be interested in this offer?

Instructors, researchers, University IT, students are some of the key beneficiaries with the roll out of the VMLogix virtual lab management solution and education offer. We believe that all lab users and staff managing lab infrastructure will benefit from the deployment of this management solution.

4. What do you require for this virtual lab solution?

VMLogix LabManager manages on-premise virtual infrastructure that is running virtualization technology from Citrix, Microsoft and/or VMware. Alternatively the LabManager-Cloud Edition manages infrastructure (e.g., AMIs) running on the AWS infrastructure. Please check here for a full set of LabManager system requirements. For the LabManager-Cloud Edition, you will need an AWS account.

Universities and Educational Institutes from across the globe can apply to be part of the VMLogix Education grant. However, the program is only open for a limited number of participating Universities. So, make your request now!
